Survey of Students’ Time and Living Conditions
Since 2000, profound transformations in how higher education and research are organised in France have significantly altered university staff and students’ relationship to time, including time for work, studies and university life. It therefore became essential to measure how students at the University of Poitiers organised their time and, in particular, how they balanced time for learning and time for other activities, academic or not, as this determines their success throughout their time at university
Four thousand students were surveyed on problems they face structuring their time between study time and non-study time; mobility issues; leisure; sports and cultural practices; conditions of access to healthcare and restaurants, and absenteeism.
