The Barcelona City Council is promoting 10 key measures for a healthier, more equal and more efficient organization of time.

Culture Department
The opening hours of the Culture Department are now from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Meetings with other organizations, working groups and commissions happen earlier. Meetings with organizations used to happen at 10 p.m., and now they happen at 7 p.m. Consultancy meetings with organizations are now off-site or they are planned for 8 a.m. Cultural organizations are given a key to common spaces, so they can self-manage it without the presence of municipal staff outside of working hours.

Plenary sessions now happen earlier, starting now at 6 p.m.; while municipal government meetings are at 4 p.m.

This team is composed by citizens of the municipality and proposes initiatives to bring forward the time use reform at a municipal level.

The opening hours of the municipal service for economic promotion are from 9.30 a.m. until 1.30 p.m. – in case a citizen can’t attend during these hours, it’s possible to arrange a meeting during afternoon hours.
